Rates explained: x1, x7, x100 and what they mean

Last updated: Based on Lineage 2 Interlude

Rates are multipliers a server applies to experience, SP, drops and Adena. A server labeled x1 keeps the original pace, while x7 or x100 multiply progress by that number. Low rates favor long journeys and economy; high rates favor fast progress and PvP.

What can be multiplied

  • Experience (XP): how fast you level.
  • SP: how fast you learn skills.
  • Drop and Adena: how much loot you get.
  • Sometimes quest rewards and spoil.

Pace and style

  • Low rates (around x1): slow leveling, valuable items, strong economy.
  • Middle rates: a balance between pace and effort.
  • High rates: fast leveling, PvP-focused play and quick end-game.

How to read a number

The same label can hide different settings, so check what the server actually multiplies. Never assume that x7 means the same everywhere.
