Which race and class should I choose in Interlude?

Last updated: Based on Lineage 2 Interlude

Choose the role you want to play first, then the race. Interlude has five races (Human, Elf, Dark Elf, Orc, Dwarf), each starting as Fighter or Mystic, and classes cover tanking, damage, healing and support. Pick something you enjoy playing for hundreds of hours.

Start from the role

  • Tank: absorbs damage and holds enemies (Knight lines).
  • Damage dealer: melee fighters, archers, daggers or mages.
  • Healer: keeps the party alive (Cleric, Oracle and Elder lines).
  • Support/buffer: strengthens the whole group (for example Prophet, Overlord, Warcryer, Swordsinger, Bladedancer).
  • Summoner: fights with the help of summoned creatures.

Then the race

Each race has different starting classes and visuals. Elves and Dark Elves have the lightest classes, Orcs are strong physical fighters and Mystic support, Dwarves have crafting and a unique Scavenger line, Humans have the widest choice. See the pages for each race: Humans in Lineage 2 Interlude, Elves in Lineage 2 Interlude, Dark Elves in Lineage 2 Interlude, Orcs in Lineage 2 Interlude, Dwarves in Lineage 2 Interlude.

Honest advice

  • Check what the server actually allows (some servers restrict or boost classes).
  • Healers and buffers are usually wanted in parties, but can be slower to level alone.
  • Do not copy a build you do not understand: see Skill builds in Interlude: principles, not recipes.
  • You can always make a second character to try another style.
